The Hudson River is the lifeblood
of Ossining. Originally it provided abundant food to the Native Americans
and early settlers. It was the means to transport goods and services
to and from New York City. Now, it provides the aesthetic and spiritual
focal point for our lives here in Ossining. Beautiful views of this fiord
and full access to the waterfront for sailing, fishing, and swimming called
many of us here. Some of our friends have died on this river. The River
keeps us here.
