About the Walker Evans in Ossining Website

This site was created by Hudson Valley Arts and Science, inc. Ossining, NY with the cooperation of the The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Department of Photographs. The images, text and design are copy write protected and may not be downloaded or reproduced for any reason without express written permission. All images owned by the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The creation of links to this site are, of course, encouraged.

Hudson Valley Arts and Science, inc. is a registered not for profit 501(c)3 charitable organization. Tax exempt donations to help pay for the site development and hosting are most welcome. This site took seven years from inception to launch. Including programming, legal and image licensing.

With the exception of between 5 to 7 images out of the 41, this is the first time these images have been published.

This site attempts to remain faithful to Walker Evans' preferred style of presentation with no caption or explanatory text on the same page. Dark gray text links were used where necessary to minimize visual impact.
